My Own Experience
Electrolysis is a field well known to me. I started having my upper lip done at the age of thirteen. As a young adult I went on to have all my facial hair treated as well as the hair on my arms. Thankfully, I had very effective treatments by two skilled electrologists, and through them learned a lot about the field of electrolysis.

Why Electrolysis?
When my own daughter was sixteen, I took her to a local electrologist for a treatment on her upper lip. The space looked unsanitary and the electrologist unkempt. She was VERY slow and in one hour had accomplished very little. That one treatment cost me $100 and she charged me $10 for the probe! As I sat on a chair, which was covered with cat hairs, I realized that I could do a much better job than she did. I had to embark on a career in Electrolysis.

I knew I had the knowledge, ability and compassion to be an excellent electrologist. Enrolling in Berkowits and learning the techniques came naturally to me, Setting up my practice was fun. I enlisted the expertise of friends who were physicians, and they taught me how to set up all my sterilization procedures. I practiced “safe” electrolysis even before standards were set.

My Education
I graduated college with a B.S. in education, and went on to earn thirty graduate credits. After teaching kindergarten for five years, I left that career to be a stay at home mom.

As my two children got older, I did some part-time work. When my eldest was nearing college, I decided to start a new career. In 1990, I enrolled in the Berkowits School of Electrolysis, and have been practicing electrolysis for the last 16 years. I started my practice in my home but moved my studio into a Medical-Professional Building three years later.

My Attitude
I am happy and proud to say that I have had a thriving practice for many years. I treat each client with the utmost respect and consideration and ALWAYS give “my all”. It warms my heart to see the smiles on my clients’ faces as I finish their cases.

My Own Experience
I know what it feels like to be embarrassed by unwanted hair. Having an extremely "fuzzy" upper lip and side burns as a teenager were reasons for kids to pick on me in school. Lucky for me, my mother, upon completing her education at Berkowits School of Electrolysis, treated my facial hair and got the job done!!

Why Electrolysis?
I decided to be trained in electrolysis many years ago, so that some day, I might be able to join my Mother’s practice. For the past 10 years I have been working in the field of Electrolysis part-time while maintaining a career in the Textile Design industry.

After I got married, my husband and I decided to leave the big city behind and we moved back to Westchester. I joined “Just Between Us” in August of 2003.

My Education
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and graduated the Berkowits School of Electrolysis in 1993.

My Attitude
Having hair in places you do not want can make you feel self conscious, and unhappy. Having been diagnosed with PCOS, I too am learning to deal with the influx of unwanted hair growth. It can be overwhelming at times. Don't feel helpless! This is why we are here. Phyllis and I are dedicated to helping each client feel great about his or her choice to have electrolysis.
